Dad and Daughters Racing
started at the end of the
2004 racing season with the purchase of our first midget.
The chassis is a 2000 Bishop powered by an Ed Wilson built Race Tek 2.3
liter Oldsmobile DOHC Quad 4 engine.
This car was built originally for Lee Walther who raced it in the Oklahoma City
area. I don't have the full history of the car but I do know that in 2002 the
car was raced by Chris Pierce at the Chili Bowl in Tulsa.
Our home track is Whip City Speedway in Westfield MA. We can be found there
every Saturday night from late April through early October. We are in pit stall
#44 just across from the track exit please take the time to stop by.
The Quad 4 midget is a
spec class car where the only engine allowed is the 2.3 or 2.4 L Oldsmobile DOHC
Quad 4, modifications are limited in an effort to keep costs down and make
the class more competitive
We run straight ethanol or E-85 for fuel and most of the engine modifications
are geared around the fuel. We are permitted a larger fuel injector, a
reprogrammed ECM, altered cam timing and a tubular header, modifications to the
stock intake manifold are permitted to make a more compact package and to
provide clearance for the steering. All cars must run the 1992 ECM which was
intended to permit swapping ECM's from car to car on any given night as a way to
prevent any tampering. All cars run the same MEM-CAL with the same tuning
parameters, this is the real heart of the system.
Dad and Daughters Racing has been supplying all the teams with the properly
programmed MEMCAL since 2006.
