This engine
was put together by Wasatch Engineering in Provo Utah.
As it turns out this engine is made up of ingenuity and a healthy dose of parts
left over from Oldsmobile Motor sports and the workshop of the late Jim Fueling.
Just by luck and a mutual friend I found out about this engine and that it might
be for sale. It took over a year to decide but I bought the engine late this
past summer and had a friend who was going out to Bonneville for the fall speed
week bring it back for me.
I have not opened the motor up because it has less than a dozen races on it, but
it is a 2.3 liter Quad 4 with 14.5:1 compression, an MSD crank fired ignition,
Peterson dry sump oiling, Hilborn fuel injection, solid lifters, and titanium valve
retainers.
It is my understanding that this motor has made 320 HP @ 10,000 rpm on a dyno,
that's almost 2.4 hp per cubic inch!
As soon as I have everything together and the weather warms up I will try to
post a .wav file of what it sounds like.
